How does a staff member qualify for Adoption Leave?
As the law stands, employees must have worked continuously for your company for 26 weeks and may be entitled to 52 weeks of Adoption Leave and 39 weeks of statutory adoption pay. However, employers need to bear in mind changes coming into place from April 5 2015 which make Adoption Leave a day one right, so employees will no longer have had to work for 26 continuous weeks.
